Diversified: A hands on technique to adjust the spine. It is the most widely used technique involving precise thrusts to improve the function of that particular joint. Treating disc herniation, sciatica, pinched nerve, subluxation, etc…
Gonstead: A hands on technique to adjust the spine that was developed by Dr. Gonstead out of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. This technique also involves a precise thrust to adjust the spine. In this office, the most common Gonstead technique used is the cervical chair (adjustment of the neck while in a seated position).
Flexion/Distraction: A popular technique involving decompression (traction) manipulation. An excellent choice for disc herniation, facet syndrome, scoliosis, or for patient’s that don’t like the “crack”.
Thompson (drop table): This technique utilizes a quick, short thrust to the spine or pelvis as the table drops an inch. It is another comfortable option for the patient that doesn’t involve the “twist and crack”.
Activator: This technique requires the use of an instrument called an activator gun or some people refer to it as a “clicker”. This is used for many conditions including subluxation, muscle spasm, or even sinus congestion to name a few. Activator is a preferred method if the patient has osteoporosis.
Lumbar Decompression: The decompression (traction) unit in this office is the DRX 9000. It is specific for the lumbar spine and can target a specific level of the spine. Ideal for a herniated disc or pinched nerve causing sciatica. This treatment lasts about 30 mins and is quite relaxing. Patients will often fall asleep during the treatment.
Extremity: Hands on manipulation of extremity joints including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers, hip, knee, and ankle. We commonly treat conditions such as rotator cuff, impingement, carpal tunnel, and ankle sprain to name a few.
